Publisher and content eligibility
A page must provide useful, original content and comply with applicable law, rights obligations, Google Publisher Policies and any other advertising provider’s rules. Channel approval does not automatically make a page eligible for advertising.
- No illegal, dangerous, deceptive or rights-infringing content
- No copied, automatically generated or low-value pages created mainly to display ads
- No malware, unwanted software, adult sexual exploitation or other prohibited material
- Channel owners must hold the rights required to stream and monetize their content
Invalid traffic is prohibited
Administrators, owners, staff and viewers must not generate artificial impressions or clicks. We may disable advertising, remove a channel or preserve records for investigation when invalid traffic is suspected.
- Never click your own ads or ask another person to click
- Never reward, mislead or pressure anyone to view or click an ad
- Never use bots, exchanges, paid-to-click traffic or automated refreshes
- Test advertisements only with provider-approved test tools
Safe placement and labelling
Ads must be clearly separated from player controls, menus, download links and other interactive elements. They must not obscure content, create accidental clicks or interfere with playback.
- Use only clear labels such as “Advertisements” or “Sponsored Links” where a label is needed
- Do not place ads over the player or imitate play, close, next or navigation buttons
- Do not use pop-unders, forced redirects or layouts with more advertising than useful content
- Placeholders remain non-clickable until a compliant advertising unit is configured
Privacy, cookies and consent
Advertising vendors may process device identifiers, cookies, IP information and interaction data for delivery, fraud prevention, frequency control, measurement or personalization. The Privacy and Cookie Policies describe these uses. Consent must be obtained before non-essential storage or personalized advertising where law requires it.
- Offer clear personalized and non-personalized choices where required
- Respect withdrawal, browser and device advertising controls
- Use a Google-certified CMP for Google ads in the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland when required
- Do not include passwords or private owner documents in advertising data
Owner and advertiser responsibilities
Owners and advertisers are responsible for the accuracy, legality and destination safety of submitted creatives. Ads may be reviewed, rejected, paused or removed without guaranteeing delivery, approval, impressions, clicks or revenue.
Official Google resources
Google’s current policies and account notices control when Google advertising services are used. Requirements may change, so administrators should review the official sources before enabling production ads.
